Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is included in my order?

A: Your smilehero order includes custom upper and lower clear retainers, a storage case, an at-home impression kit, chewies, and a retainer removal hook. Please review the product photos and package details on this page for the specific items included with your selected option.
Q: How does the custom retainer process work?

A: The process is simple:

  1. Order your custom retainer kit.
  2. Receive your at-home impression kit and follow the instructions to make your impressions.
  3. Send your impressions back for review.
  4. Once your impressions are approved, we create your custom retainers and ship them to you.

Your impression kit and finished retainers may arrive in separate shipments.
Q: When will I get my clear retainers?

A: The impression kit typically arrives within 3–5 business days. After you complete and return your impressions, the review, custom production, and delivery process takes additional time.

Please allow approximately 10–20 business days for production and delivery of your finished retainers, subject to impression approval, shipping transit times, and other processing factors. We will provide any applicable shipping updates as your order progresses.
Q: What if I make a mistake while taking my impressions?

A: Don't worry! The impression kit we send you in one shipment includes enough materials for multiple attempts. If your first attempt doesn't go as planned, simply prepare a new impression and try again by following the instructions provided with your kit.

Take your time—you have more than one chance to get it right! If you need help, contact us at support@smilehero.net.
Q;How long will my retainers last?

A: The lifespan of your retainers depends on factors such as wear frequency, teeth grinding or clenching, cleaning habits, and how they are stored.

To help care for your retainers, rinse them with cool or lukewarm water, clean them gently using a method suitable for the material, avoid hot water, and store them in the included case when not in use.

Inspect your retainers regularly and contact us if you notice cracks, deformation, or other damage.
